Description : This beautiful essay details the hidden causes of War and Lawlessness that is the ruin of great nations. Arthur's Essay is profound in its though and style in dealing with the question of equality. It deems the human race to be bound by the same laws of nature that governs all animals, and it is a damning criticism of new age democracy. The book was dedicated to King George V of Hanover (1851-66), the last king of Hanover. In the dedication, Gobineau writes that he presents to His Majesty the fruits of his speculations and studies into the hidden causes of the "revolutions, bloody wars, and lawlessness" ("revolutions, guerres sanglantes, renversements de lois") of the age. In a letter to Count Anton von Prokesch-Osten in 1856 he describes the book as based upon "a hatred for democracy and its weapon, the Revolution, which I satisfied by showing, in a variety of ways, where revolution and democracy come from and where they are going."
People steeped in earlier ways of thinking will not appreciate the full extent of the revolution that will be led by the Society of HumanKind. If however, they follow the Society into the open spaces created by the Axioms, they will find that much that seemed to be of central significance and vital importance in the past will no longer be of interest, let alone concern. So it is with the question of racial differences. To the question, 'Are there distinctly different races within the human species?', the Society will apply the Principle 2.2 and react with indifference. If such fundamental differences within humanity can be identified then the Society will welcome them, and recognise them as a reinforcement of our confidence in our capacity to face an uncertain future. If no such distinctions can be found, then the Society might be a little disappointed but will be equally unconcerned. In either case it will wish to do nothing, other than to ensure that the full range of diversity and variety presently found amongst individuals of the human species is preserved and enhanced for all the good reasons set out in the Treatises on the Individual and on Peace, as well as elsewhere in these Essays.

Equality In Races Essay, Research PaperEQUALITY IN RACESI love being Puertorican and fdo think that we should always be proud of who we are,Hispanics. Also is a great thing and a good oportunity to be citizens of the United States. The problem is that we?ll always be rejected in some states and from people that think that we?re in the states because we want to take their land, works, etc. and that?s not true. We want to have the same opportunities of jobs, families, housing as any other citizen of the United States. We, the ?rejected people? from a ?superior race? want and have worked for a dream, equality, that we defenetely deserve.Today, we are having many problems that takes us back in time to 1898 when the United States took this small island from Spain. At that time we didn?t know what was best for us, we just let ourselves in this ?democratic dream? the United States offered. Even now we don?t know what we want or who we are. For many people it?s strange to be citizen from another place that?s not the one you where born. And it?s more strange that if you don?t want that citizenship because you want your own, in our case we can?t have our citizenship as puertoricans, it?s not a legal process. Many people have done it, but like for example last year they were prohibited to vote in our elections. In my opinion I don?t think that?s faire, because your own country is leaving you apart from all decisions being made, only because you didn?t accept an american cititizenship. This situation, and every situation refering our status right now is really bad. There has been a progress because of time and society, but we?re too far for what we really need2in our lives as puertoricans. The most important thing is to always keep an identity of who we are, and no matter if we?re citizens of the United States or not, we?ll always be puertoricans and I stilll love being who I am.
Equality Between Races Essay - 1130 Words
Description : This collection of critical essays explores the life and writings of President Barack Obama. The individual essays, written by a diverse body of scholars, examine specific facets of Obama’s career – from personal, communal, national and international reactions to his presidential election; to his controversial contributions to the global conversation about race; his impact on popular culture and race relations; his literary, political and philosophical visions; his attitude toward the American constitution; his enactment of new legislation; to the manner in which he attempts to influence American public policy; and to the implications his presidency holds for Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean. Ranging far beyond the presentation of personal opinions about the Obama Administration, these essays offer scholarly perspectives on Obama’s two books, and on his multidimensional efforts to remove the obstacles to equality of opportunity in the United States. They also explore Obama’s potential for re-shaping the American social and cultural terrain and, by extension, for re-vitalizing the American Dream. This book should be of interest to scholars of political science, literature, history, philosophy, religion and psycho-culture as well as to the general reading public.

Equality for Race Essay - 444 WordsThe logic of the Axioms and choice of the Dogma, crystallised in the Principles 1.3 and 2.2, provides a permanent answer to that problem for adherents of the Society of HumanKind. It forces them to adopt a positive and welcoming attitude toward every sign and symptom of variety in the human species, as well as destroying any basis for any pejorative determination of the relative value or worth of such differences. Repeatedly in the Treatises and in these Essays, and for a range of very good reasons, diversity and variation within the human population is discovered to be the greatest strength of our species. It provides our best hope for salvation and our future and is the measure of our value to each other. It is even the basis of our unity. The Essay on Equality argues that it is the one essential inherent common characteristic of our species.
